Velvet Kimono with Willow Branches in Black and Teal
This shawl was pre-rinsed as part of the dying and hand-painting process. A cold, gentle cycle will make it softer. A hot dryer will make it fluffier.
I printed my own Willows pattern into white silk-velvet, creating a texture called devorè or" burn-out velvet". The fabric is shear silk dyed a dark grey to black with, an all-over velvet pattern hand-painted with dyes in turquoise, grey and aqua tones, to a watercolor effect.
• One size fits most:
Once the fabric is made, it is sewn together into this simple kimono slip-on, wrap style, with rolled-edges hems. It Measures 33 inches for a nice cover-up length. It can be dressed down with jeans or worn to dress up a simple outfit.
• 50% silk 50% rayon.
All natural materials makes for a drape that is luxuriously soft.
