I etched my own willow branches pattern into white silk-velvet, creating a texture called devorè, sometimes referred to as burn-out or "cut velvet". The fabric is sheer silk dyed a blue tone, with an all-over velvet pattern hand-painted with dyes in a watercolor style.
This scarf was pre-washed as part of the dying and hand-painting process. A cold, gentle cycle will make it softer. A hot dryer will make it fluffier. It may be ironed on the reverse side.
The sewn hems are rolled-edges.
•The fabric is rayon pile with silk chiffon backing.
All natural materials makes for an elegant drape that is luxuriously soft.
