I printed my own pattern of ginkgo leaves into white silk-velvet, creating a texture called devorè, sometimes referred to as "burn-out velvet" or "cut velvet". The fabric is sheer silk dyed a red tone with an all-over velvet pattern hand-painted with more dyes in a watercolor style.
This scarf was pre-rinsed as part of the dying and hand-painting process. A cold, gentle cycle will make it softer. A hot dryer will make it fluffier. It may be ironed on the reverse side.
The sewn hems are rolled-edges.
•The fabric is silk backing with rayon pile.
All natural materials make it luxuriously soft.
