Velvet Scarf with Dragonflies in Turquoise
I printed my very own pattern of dragonflies over a pond of water, into white silk-velvet. This created a texture called devorè, sometimes referred to as "burn-out velvet" or "cut velvet." The fabric is sheer silk dyed green, with an all-over velvet pattern hand-painted with dyes in turquoise tones, to a watercolor effect.
This scarf was pre-rinsed as part of the dying and hand-painting process. A cold, gentle cycle will make it softer. A hot dryer will make it fluffier. It may be ironed on the reverse side.
•Measures 13"'x60" (35cmx157cm):
The sewn hems are rolled-edges.
•The fabric is 18% silk and 82% rayon. 100% cozy.
All natural materials make it luxuriously soft.
