Devoré Silk Velvet Scarf
Hand-Painted, with Pussywillows Design in Beige.
I printed my own Pussywillows pattern into white silk-velvet, creating a texture called devoré, sometimes referred to as "burn-out velvet" or "cut velvet". The fabric is shear silk dyed lime green, with an all-over velvet pattern hand-painted with dyes in green and purple tones, to a watercolor effect.
This scarf was pre-rinsed as part of the dying and hand-painting process. A cold, gentle cycle will make it softer. A hot dryer will make it fluffier. It may be ironed on the reverse side.
The sewn hems are rolled-edges.
•The fabric is 18% silk and 82% rayon:
All natural materials make it luxuriously soft.
