This shawl was pre-washed as part of the dying and hand-painting process. A cold, gentle cycle followed by a hot dryer will add to its softness.
I printed my own Willows pattern into white silk-velvet, creating a texture called "devorè" or burnout velvet. The fabric is sheer silk dyed a dark gray to black tone with, an all-over velvet pattern hand-painted with more dyes, in a water color style.
• One size:
Once the fabric is made, it is sewn together into this simple kimono wrap style, with rolled-edges hems. It Measures 33" in length. The width is 74" and drapes nicely on all body types. It can be dressed down with jeans or worn over an evening dress.
• Silk chiffon backing with rayon velvet pile.
All natural materials make it luxuriously soft.
